About Costello Painting
It all started when...
Around 1940, Chris Costello's great grandfather, George Costello, decided it was time to learn a new skill. He had previously been a N.Idaho logger and silver miner, but painting would become his trade of choice. His son was able to advance the craft further before eventually passing the torch to Chris's father Dave, who flourished as an independent painting contractor for over 25 years.

Growing up within a rich painting tradition, Chris worked hard to improve his own prep, brush and rolling skills. For 10 consecutive summers (starting at age 12), Chris worked full-time alongside his father and grandfather until earning a business degree from The University of Portland. After graduation, Chris and his family opened Costello's Travel Caffe in Portland, OR. For 13 years, Chris worked tirelessly to make Costello's a vibrant hub of the community. In 2016, Chris sold the business and decided to return to his painting roots.

With the freedom to reconnect to the past, Chris renewed his love for painting. Working primarily on residential interiors, word of mouth referrals grew quickly. Maintaining an emphasis on customer service and affordable quality work, Chris treats each client like family, guided by the “Golden Rule” principle.
